General Questions

What is This?
This site provides updates to the 2006 Hein publication, Sexual Orientation and the Law: A Research Bibliography. Both the print and online portions of the bibliography consist of selected citations to books, articles, and government documents on LGBTQ law, plus short descriptive notes ("annotations") written by the editors. Editorial credits for the print publication appear here, and the print publication can be purchased from W.S. Hein. Editorial credits for the web publication appear here.

Update Schedule
This site will be updated with a new release approximately every 6 months. The links in the right-hand column will be updated to provide links to pdf files as well as html versions of each release. Want to know when a new release has been added? Subscribe to the site's feed!

Searching
All words in the database are searchable, including title, author, and the text of each annotation (but not the full text of the article, as we do not store those). Use quotation marks for phrase searching, e.g., "same-sex sexual harassment".

More about...

Tags
Tags are subject keywords that are applied to each annotation by our editors. Clicking on a linked tag will generate a list of all articles in the database that have been assigned that tag. Note also that the most-frequently-assigned tags in the database appear in relative larger or smaller size in the "tag cloud" at the lower-right corner of the home page.

Syndication (aka RSS)
RSS feeds are available for the site (all articles), or for individual tags. Click on a tag for more information about feeds.
